This 120-page document allows composition students to practice species counterpoint as taught in Johann Joseph Fux’s seminal treatise Gradus ad Parnassum. The six cantus firmi (Dorian, Phrygian, Lydian, Mixolydian, Aeolian, and Ionian) are presented under the headings of each of the five species of counterpoint in two voices, then in three, and finally four voice. The pages are in landscape orientation so that each line can fit easily on the length of the page.
